Hi
I am building a road touring bike and am struggling to get the gear and brake set up I want. I am after road shifters/brakes (either hydro or cable discs) with a smaller than usual double (42x28 ish) and a wide rear cassette (11x36 ideally). We all know about Shimano incompatibilities but i read an article where SRAM quoted that their Exact Actuation 10 speed kit was cross compatible between road and MTB
Wondered if anyone can confirm the following would work

10 speed SRAM APEX® 1 HRD Shift-Brake Control levers
GX 2x10 rear derailleur
11x36 cassette
X7 crankset 42x28t (or Equivalent)

Its a bit of a niche question tbh but no-one seems to know and SRAM have no UK consumer contact... so worth a try here.
Cheers
Marcus
Question: Why do so many cyclists not stop at red lights? You would if you were in a car...

  • I spoke to SRAM - yes it would all work however I picked 11 speed levers instead, so I would need the 10 speed S700 HRD levers.
    Ace.
