off to the early webexes, then get stuck in, too much fuckwittery, posing and time wasting going on at globalmegacorp, utterly fed up with certain people, i know who's holding the axe, time to help sharpen it

Disaster has struck, I don't know what to do, it's entirely my own fault due to lack of forward planning. I can't put up with this it's inhuman. I've got to get out of here. I'll be back later once I've restocked the biscuit tin.

Friday = pub night, so life is good

Managed to balance it with a nice run this morning, bit dark in the woods, but amazing as the sun came up

Managed to steal a few biscuits to help me get through the morning, it was a bit touch and go for a while there.
Slightly grey around the gills this morning after another night on the beer and talking bollox. No pub for me tonight, I'll stay in and pester the Mrs. Was due to drive in today due to running the female child around but mercifully have been let off the hook as my good lady is not well, this means I managed to wobble to work and get to go to the cafe for lunch.

Feel terrible this morning, probably due to dehydration from the last few days of being out on site and not drinking enough water because I'm an idiot. A few friends staying tonight in preparation for racing (mtb) both days this weekend, hopefully I'll get away early
  • The only dehydration I'm feeling is down to Chianti.

On a wine related note, I have two bottles of Schioppettino which have been brought back from Italy. The grape was almost extinct several years ago but brought back from the brink and it's bloody lovely. I doubt I'll share with anyone other than the good lady.

That carbon thing with two wheel in the garage will be vintage by the time I get to ride it again, bloody decorating is a major distraction!

I'd describe how much of a bad day today has been but there's little point - the words required will not pass the BR filters.

Hope the painkillers are doing some good...

Only moderately dehydrated this morning and managed a half decent nights sleep. Still its Friday and the only balls up so far has been a potential minion turning up for an interview that HR were meant to have cancelled. So I let current minion who he'd be replacing if we hadn't already dropped him spend an hour interviewing instead. He still thinks he's got a chance - I feel vaguely cruel.

  • There seems an unusual amount of hiring going on at your place, I sometimes wonder if its a bit of an exaggeration for the internet.

And why would an accountant do all the hiring anyway, surely you're just there to count beans?

After all the talk of hiring it was only two places I was trying to fill - just had to go through a dozen or so first round and 4 second round to decide. But now done as long as the second one accepts the offer. Had to interview them myself as these are technical specialist jobs ad there's only really me who can sound them out on that stuff and decide if I'll be able to put up with them for a few years.

I don't do much bean counting these days - that's what the minions are for :) I spend half my time trying to manage them - kinda beats working.

No worries. I probably was banging on about it a fair bit but it was preferable to banging on about the real day job :)

The SA is waiting but no...

Lets talk, planned to go for a ride. Meeting at school went on for 2 hours instead of 1, some good, some bad, some indifferent. That left 20 mins for lunch and a 1.5 hour bike ride but it started pi$$ing down. Friend called me and says he needs his garage fixed yesterday. Garage houses 22k mini. Picked up some wood at Jewsons. Went to PPP to cut it exactly to size to replace a top 'lintel' (for want of a better word) above the door. Lintel must have been glued in with superglue and 60 nails/screws/whatever they had in the tin.
3.35pm thought 'Oh farq, got to be at the dentist for 3.40'. Drove like a white van driver in my white van. Dr Morriera is no longer there. Heap big sigh. I get over zealous Bulgarian chap by the name of Stoichkov or summet. Says that he is going to do Ultra sonic cleaning. Very good and thanks for the attention but farq me, my mouth feels like someone used a wire brush on it.
Dashed back to yesterday job at 4.10pm, thinking the OH leaves for work at 5, I have 20 mins to get this half rotten bit of wood out. The other half is the half with the nails etc in it. Bollox. Fail. Push job on to next whenever.

Cook, clean, wash up, attend to hyper toots, occupy them with a rag and some window cleaner doing their worst on the window but the least to the rest of the house. I'm knackered.

    On the financial side however...

    SA - Self Assessment.

The bit in between: no idea either.

Financial side. Another pound drop set to go to 1.10 to the Dollar according to some. :D

You are right. I wouldn't touch her with yours.

Has no bearing on whether I think she is a candidate worthy of office though.
