Advice buying a used bike

Hi all,
Just after a bit of advice on a used bike I've found near my home in Bristol.

Wondered whether there are any tell-tale signs I should be looking for when buying used? I've read a few guides as to what to look for and feel I have the basics covered; just don't want to end up buying a lemon.
Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

More likely to end up buying stolen than buying a lemon.
Check with bike register and the local police it's not nicked.
Take for a ride, make sure all the gears are working OK, check the wheel and crank bearings for play and smooth operation, check the suspension is working ok by riding up and down a few kerbs and check the chain for stretch.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
