Norco Charger/ On-One Parkwood - don't tell the wife..

Had some great advice from a couple of members already, so cheekily thought I'd ask another question and throw myself at the mercy of the community once more. As long as the wife doesn't find out, I may be able to get to £700 for a new MTB. I will be climbing a fair bit as well as some fast downhill (I'm lucky enough to live in North Wales, you're either going up or down a hill at any given time)
Never heard of On-One, but the Parkwood 29 looks to be a decent bike. Anyone got experience of the brand?
Spotted this Norco on Evans website, never heard of them but they seem like a decent bike. Anyone know whether they're good kit?

All the best, Paddy

North Wales, you say? Up to £700, you say?
How about previously cherished; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Giant-Stance- ... SwLF1X8qj70 -
That is a nice bike and I would love to say yes. But those I've looked at so far have 12mth's free credit, which is part of the appeal too. Really grateful to you though, I'm sure it will find a new home pretty quickly at that price.doomanic wrote:North Wales, you say? Up to £700, you say?

That's narrowed things nicely. Really appreciate it. I found this little corker on their website too, looks like a steal for the level of kit. https://www.evanscycles.com/norco-charg ... e-EV243542 - I'll report back when I've made a final choice.oxoman wrote:Out of your choices it would have to be the Norco, On One then Pinnacle in that order. The Norco are a good well regarded brand and the one you link to has the easiest gears for hills and half decent spec. The Pinnacle is pretty poor to be honest being a 9 speed triple the other 2 are 2 x 10. The 27'5 wheels should be a bit stronger on the Norco than the 29er also the Norco,s tyres are better.0

After plenty of searching I settled on this; https://www.evanscycles.com/norco-charg ... e-EV243542
It was on offer for £599 from Evans Cycles. Seemed like a good deal. I'll post something after a couple of rides and let you know how this mid 40's buffoon is getting along.0
