I suffer from numb toes when cycling. I have tried different shoes, wedges, insoles, different pedals, bike fits, different cleat positions and it all makes no difference. Could it be caused by something else?

  • When I had this it was a combination of having the straps a fraction too tight ... and that I was, without realising it, curling up my toes a little while pedaling. Once I realised that and tried to consciously relax my toes the problem stopped. I still get it occassionally but is usually the same root cause - old habits and all that.
  • I will have the same problem if my straps are pulled to tight. For me, I strap the shoes just to the point where I think they are to loose and that usually is just right.

Once my feet get numb, its to late and loosening the shoes wont work.
