I am looking at getting my first hardtail mountain bike to use down the local woods on minor down hill and XC tails, I have a budget of up to £600

I am interested in the choice on offer at halfords at the minute and would be ideal with the finance option they offter, the 3 bikes of interests are:

Voodoo Bizango - £600
Carrera Fury 2015 - £400 (on offer)
Boardman Comp - £520

I think I am almost ruling out the boardman though. I really like the look of the Voodoo range but not completely set, and the Fury looks to be a similar spec for a whole £200 less.

Any help would be appreciated, I am new to this..

Thanks

  • well i can only advise you on two of your choices, i have a boardman pro and its amazing. the boardman brand is very good and the quality and kit is top notch. the boardman bike range has won many awards over the past 3-4 years for best bike under 1k and if you look in a what mountain bike mag their is always a boardman bike in the top 5 in at least one category.

the voodoo bike range again won some amazing awards and the voodoo hoodoo is a firm fave of a lot of riders because at the sub £500 its a amazing bit of kit of the money, the only other one i would advise you in is the decathlon Rafal 720 as its a new bike range they have but its been raved about a lot on the forums here over the past few weeks,

    https://www.decathlon.co.uk/rafal-720-m ... 37929.html

the bike is on offer at the moment £599 from £900

let us know what you pick :)

Hands down on Voodoo because I have one haha.
  • Bizango would certainly be my choice. Good spec and cheap. Also highly rated. Also if you order the vouchers from the business website you get 10% off :)
