Recommend me a replacement wheel

Rather unsurprisingly, SRAM won't be replacing the broken fork lowers on the Reba's on my son's bike. Their diagnosis was that the QR must have come loose and been ridden for a period of time which has caused wear marks in both the dropouts and on the inside of the lowers (I'd seen the latter, not the former) which has twisted the lowers and caused the brace to crack.
Disappointing, was hoping for a luckier outcome from them, but in all honesty I can see their position.
On a spark of good luck, however, I managed to track down a brand new set of lowers for a bargain price (£38) so either a TFTuned job of fitting or a DIY job should sort that out.
Anyway, assuming the stock wheels on the bike (old model Mavic Crossride) aren't the ones with a 9mm/15mm adaptor on them, any recommendations for a sub £100 front wheel with a 15mm maxle (maxel?). Straight replacements with a Crossride can be had for about £65 but I'm drawing a blank with others. I think the Shimano 35's come with a centrelock disc mount, which I don't think is compatible with what we've got already.

Sorry, yes - 650b/27.5. Should have said!
(Ebay may throw up some options too of course but I tend to ignore them from buying requests unless there is a really fantastic bargain to be had going under the radar).2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)

Superstar, using their custom builder, throws up a Switch Ultra hub, with own brand rim and DB spokes for £90. Which is not too bad, but keep an eye out for offers on pairs.0

Worth the extra over the Crossride? I know nothing about wheels and hubs, need educating about why one hub is better than another etc etc. Presumably for front wheel not quite as important as the rear?2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)
