Bike storage stand
Looking for a low effort but more stable option for storing our bikes in the garage. Currently 1 bike leans against the wall and the other against the first one. It can get a bit precarious especially as we're constantly walking past with the rubbish to put in the wheelie bins etc. The slightest knock and things start to move.
Have been looking at these which seem to be fairly stable : http://www.wiggle.co.uk/pro-bike-display-stand/
Would they work with thru-axles and disc brakes though?
Any opinions on the above or alternatives? It's purely for storage, I've a workstand for maintenance.

wall mount is probably better to keep them out of the way
for instance...

...the arms can be swung up out of the way when not in use, use anchor bolts to fix to masonry wall (plugs will work loose)my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Thanks... trying to avoid drilling though and hoping to have to freedom to move them around.0

Or a freestanding one you can plonk where you want. I have one of these butted against a wall. Cheaper than this in real world.

Interesting. Never knew they existed. A bit more than I was thinking of paying but a lot less than the value of the bikes0 -
Pro stand you linked works with my road and mtb. The MTB doesn't feel so secure due to the disc set up but also the weight, however it has never fallen over. The cx and road bike feel fine in it
I've used clugs in my old house but that needs holes in the wall and the current one is rented and the lady is house proud so the holes are no I suspect
Both are cheap and easy. just dont be thinking you can work from it as a stand0 -
I use the Pro stands with road bikes both with and without disc brakes with no issues.0

I know you say you want to avoid drilling, but for less than £15 for 5 hooks and a box of wall plugs, i have my full sus mtb, the wife's mtb, and 3 road bikes hanging off my garage wall.
Using these: http://www.screwfix.com/p/smith-locke-h ... 03mm/5525jMy winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...0 -
I use two of these:

One bike is above the other mounted on the wall.0
