Front thru axle swap for QR ?
So I've had my GT Grade Al 105 for a while now and I like it but i get a lot of judder through the front disc. I've aligned the caliper any number times but after a few miles it keeps returning.
Is this down to it being a QR rather than a thru axle ?
Is it possible to swap a GT Grade Carbon frame carbon front fork (with a thru axle) for my GT Grade Al frame carbon front fork (with QR) ?
Is it something else ? one part rotor rather than 2 part ?
Warped rotor ?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

It's not down to it being a QR. It's often down to the construction of the fork. It may work if you swap to the thru-axle version, but it will be because the construction of the fork is slightly different rather than the axle.
If you do want to do so, remember that you'll need a new front hub/wheel too.0 -
It can also be the headset being a little loose. My Grade, ironically with a carbon fork, developed occasional brake judder a few months after I initially set it up. Adjusted it once and it hasn't returned.0

I very much doubt it's anything other than a rotor issue (contaminated or some pick-up) else all the Grades would suffer from it and, instead, they have a very good reputation. Even from an engineering point of view, I struggle to see that TA makes much difference to the stiffness of a road bike fork.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0
