Ideas for 3-4 days long rides in England or Wales please!
Hi
Since I have promised to organise a ride for my father and his best friend next spring / summer but am low on ideas where so if there are any suggestions it would be most appreciated!
To keep in mind
- some road is OK but ideally mainly off-road
- has to be reasonably gentle so not too hilly (they're both very fit but both in their 70's)
- in an area where it possible to find over-night accommodation (and ideally in pubs which they'd love!)
- the more scenic the better. They both live in Sweden and have not seen hardly anything beyond London. So this is a chance to promote the beautiful countryside.
I know, hardly any 'guidelines' but still...
A very big thanks to anyone that has any ideas!!!

Sorry but what route is 'coast to coast'? Don't know that one.
Google it, quite a few coast to coast routes.
If you're looking at a multi day trip the taff won't keep you occupied. How far do you think they can do a day?
You're probably best of somewhere like the south downs or heading out to say cotswolds if you're after nice scenery and fairly easy hills.0 -
You could try the Trans Cambrian ( http://www.transcambrianway.org.uk/ ) on your own or this fella does a guided tour http://www.mbwales.com/ his name is Phil organises all accommodation and transport, can be done in 1 to 4 days.0

Tissington and High Peak trails - easy, flat riding of just over 30 miles:

These are also one end of the Pennine Bridleway:

but can be linked with plenty of other routes in Derbyshire:

and the Trans Pennine trail:

Sandstone Way, in Northumbria?
200ish km. Quite a bit of climbing overall, but overall not technically difficult trails, and mixed with a bit of quiet road. I did it with a couple of mates a year and a half ago over 2 hard days (and we included a couple of optional routes over harder terrain and with not-always-obvious-signing), but do the standard route over 4 days, it'd be pretty straightforward. Stunning scenery, and lots of options for cafe's, pubs etc.0 -
