Just an observation, really. It occurred to me to check the chain on my Ti bike today. I was pleasantly surprised - 3400-odd km, all weathers, cross-chaining etc and it's barely stretched - not even half-way to 0.75. Record 11 chain, Super Record '15 gruppo, mix of Super Record and Chorus cassette depending on wheel choice. I generally find SRAM Red22 chains are at replacement point around 2500km, so this is quite impressive.

As you were.

I have a 7,000km Chorus chain with less than 0.75
    Keep pedalling my son!
  • I find the Record chain stretches quicker, presumably the hollow pins make the difference. Don't think I have got that much ..... I think my Record chain needs replacing and that is 4,000km.
  • Campags suggested wear limit for there chains is at 0.5%wear. Leave a camapg chain till 0.75% wear and it will mess up your cassette. I get 1500 miles from a campag record chain and a bit less froma cheap kmc chain of i want to preserve the cassette. I now use cheaper miche cassettes and kmc chains and just leave them as until the shifting gets a bit iffy.
