Hi.
I've owned various Hope bike lights of 400, 800 and now a Chinese One23 @ 1,200 lumens in the past but having not ridden in a few years I have a new project you can perhaps advise me on?
We're looking for a head torch / bike light to light up the stratosphere for as little as possible and I will likely need to buy 10 or so.
Whilst out on location, I will not have the ability to recharge the units, so I will likely run these units on less than max power (?) as I suspect I will require some 5-6hrs or so from the one charge.
With this 5-6hr usage in mind, and the fact that in all likelihood I will be giving these units away at the end of the trip, I need as much light as I can muster for the funds I will need to throw at the project - that's why I am looking for something powerful, inexpensive and can run for the 5-6hrs needed. I appreciate that these units might well need to be run on the power setting one-down from the max.
Your recommendations would be most welcome.

Thanks.
I then add a battery I guess?
"8.4V 4/6x18650 Battery pack For XM-L LED Bicycle Light WaterProof 6000/9000 " is the one which seems to be viewed at the same time as the link you kindly sent me.0 -
you dont want a batt pack from china as there fake cells and dont last long and got sick of buying them so made my own with the best Panasonic cells i could buy what tesla use in there cars s model.
case

charger

so lot better spec than this and half the price.

the case does have basic bms so will cut power from the pack when the cells hit 2.5v ish but its best to keep them around 3.1v to give the cells a longer life and i mean like 10 years worth for a light pack.
i ran my light on mid power cree x3 and had a usb fan going 5v 2000ma and the pack was at 3.46v after 5hrs of use so if i went down to 2.5v thats 10hrs easy. there was 1 bar left on the case light from 3 fully charged.
the pack that come with my light from china would not even last an hour just with the light on thats how naff they are as there fake 18650 cells.0 -
The solar storm twin is good value, lightweight and good light output.
The newer smaller magicshine lookalike with a diffuser for greater spread is also a decent option.
A good charger and batteries is worthwhile, but taken care of I find the Chinese battery packs last well over two years of circa 3 times a month usage.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
