Hi Guys.

New to the forum here :) .

I am looking for a ultra fast, light, racy hardtail. The bike is going to be used in lighter trails but also for longer road trips, so the bike also needs to be comfortable.
I have read good things about the niner air 9 carbon, it should be fast and comfy. Any thoughts on that model or other recommendations? Budget max 1500 Pounds.

Best regards Christian

  • Is a Niner Air 9 carbon available for £1500? They seem to be $2500 which is circa £1800.

At a £1500 price point you're going to be making a few compromises on spec level if you go for a carbon frame. It may be that some aluminium frames with better kit are a better or even lighter option. You could drop a carbon seatpost in, which will help add some comfort to the ride. I'd also go for 29er wheels based on the use you've described.
  • Hello,
Budget 1500 pounds is more than enough for the first bike. How about BEIOU Carbon Fiber 650B? I think on EBay it will cost you about $1000 and you can spend rest of the money to get some special clothing.

Excellent first spammy post. Well done. But why would anyone actually buy an unknown make, with unknown forks, and a 'hidden' disk brake (whatever the hell that is) from a link that doesn't even ship to the UK?
