Hello,

I have an old Mountain bike in the shed and it is not seeing much action.
I plan to build it up into a dark night bike.
I originally wanted to fit drops so I could replicate my road bike position.
How ever I have hydraulic brakes which means STi levers may be expernsive.
I now think I may be better flipping a North Road type bar so I can use the existing brake levers.
Is anyone able to suggest a suitable bar or some cheap levers?

The bike is currently running 34 x 11/29 I cant pedal at 30 miles an hour is this gearing big enough?

I run my commuter on flat bars, no spacer below the stem and an inverted stem puts the bars at about the same height as the hoodz on drops. Flipped North road will be hard to get to the right angle, instead have a look at the on-one Mary http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HBOOMA/on- ... -handlebar which looks like its designed to do what you want, though personally I'd just get flats.

I presume you meant you CAN pedal at 30? That gearing will get you to 30 but at a highish cadence (assuming you have 26" wheels? About 130rpm) I run a 44T and a 12-28 on my commuter with 1.5" 26" slicks.
