Worth upgrading brakes?

Hi guys, I'm currently using Avid Juicy 3's and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading? Found some Shimano Deore M585 reasonably priced. Also recommended pads for good braking and longevity? Cheers!

Do you feel that your current brakes are not good enough? Personally, I would not change it if I had no problem with them.
Of course you can get smoother handling and better performance (e.g., in wet conditions) but if you never felt the need, why changing it? Maybe you should try somewhere the Deore M585 and see if you like it or not.0 -
if your avid brakes are working fine then just try different brake pads in them, after market ones from Uberbike or Superstar components work great.
Organic or kelvar would be an option to try or sintered (metal) if you ride in really gritty places.0
