My 810 has starting playing me up, basically the screen will not calibrate correctly. "Touch the dot" never ends and I can only touch the settings (Spanner symbol) with a toothpick in the very top right of the symbol its self. When riding the 810 virtually unusable.
I did try a factory reset it but it's the same and if I try to calibrate it via the power button and lap button nothing appears on screen it just turns off.

Is it knackered or can I wipe it via the PC and re-flash ?

  • Well, in the end it turned out to be faulty. I went through the hit list while on the phone with a garmin advisor and it's more than likely a faulty mobo or digitizer.
I have sent it back for an out of warranty brand new replacement for £82.50, I just thought I past the info on incase you end up in the same boat , pulling what little hair you have left chasing the calibration dot for 1/2 an hour
  • Just as a follow up, I mailed it back to Garmin on a Weds by next day delivery and received a brand new Garmin 810 on the following Monday a super quick turnaround
