I need some new glasses as I've snapped the arm on my..ummm....Yellow Jersey whatevers (Halfords special )
Have been considering a photochromic pair rather than interchangeable lenses like before.
However, when I looked into getting some first time round, I was advised by the national LBS "Evans" that I'd be better off avoiding them as they weren't great for on the trails under trees etc.
Having read some of the reviews for the Oakley Prizm range, that doesn't seem to be a problem (for that particular brand anyway).
Does anyone use photo lenses? Are they any good?
All help greatly appreciated!

I tried some decent photochromatic ones and found the response time to slow when going from light to shade, fine for on holidays, not so good at 20+mph on unpredictable terrain, these changed in about 10 seconds and that was far too long.
Prizm is merely a colour contrast 'technology' to improve contrast and not actually anything to do with the polarization (or not) of the lenses.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Thanks for the info Rookie.
I'm only really using the clear lens now as most of my riding is after the kids bedtime, but cant be ar$$ed to keep changing lenses!
Any suggestions for a good brand to look at for interchangeable lenses?Bossnut - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=13069531

Bolle safety glasses. Don't look bad, come in all different lenses, and cheap.

Just what I use - I have some that are clear and a pair I wear a lot which has a graduated tint at the top and clear lower down. As safety equipment they are dead cheap and pretty robust.Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff
Cannondale Synapse alloy with 'guards for the winter roads
Fuji Altamira 2.7 for the summer roads

Another vote here for Bolle safety glasses.
Cheap, comfortable and no great loss if you mislay them.“Life has been unfaithful
