Hi guys
Ive already searched this and someone was asking about a Sync, but it wasn't really helpful. I havent ridden a bike for two years, but when I last did I had a 2014 Whyte 901, which was awesome. If I could afford it now I would buy another, but life circumstances dictate that I cannot.
Ive been looking at the Whyte 603, but I don't want to be disappointed compared to the 901 I had. I know its upgradable, but the sync 4 comes with a wider bar anyway which I do want. I have had Diamondback in the past, cant remember the model as I was a child, but from I do remember, none of it was bad.
I have a budget of no more than £500, but if I can spend less now and upgrade later I will. Obviously I can buy wider bars for the Whyte, but just pondering if I should try something new while I get back into it.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions that would be great!

Lots better available for the money, the fork is pretty dreadful although it does at least have a damping cartridge.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Ok fair dos, any other ideas for that sort of budget?
I was in a bike shop today and saw the Cube Aim Pro, which looks nice, but I'm not sure about Cube as have never heard much of them. Im aware that I'm never going to get much for the money, but I'd like at least a good restarting platform for upgrading later on.0 -
Also think about second hand as a way of leveraging your cash.
Don't worry about the bike you had as a kid - start riding again and you will become one again. Actually - sell the car / wife and buy a better bike- get your priorities right!...take your pickelf on your holibobs....
jeez :roll:0 -
Check out on one website they have some good deals on the parkwood etc.0

Usual suspects for value bikes
Halfords, Go-Outdoors or Decathlon
The RR580 is blinding value right now

Excellent, even at full price it's a good value bike, at that price it's a real bargain.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Its also a very good buy, Very similar in many ways to the Rafal in terms of spec but the Rafal is more of a XC race bike while the longer travel Vitus is a full on trail hardtailCurrently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Well I m not too sure being totally new to MTB, but there is a set of trails not far from me so i was thinking a set of lights that would enable me to use them on autumn and winter evenings. i assume this isnt unusual as i ve seen people heading to there with bikes on the cars at that time of year0
