Hi , This is my first post :)

Do the buttons / rivets on floating brake rotors sit flush with the outer brake ring and inner spider body :?:

I've never used them before , thinking of buying them but don't know if they will foul the calipers.

Thanks .

Some yes, some no, do you mean fully floating or just alloy spider?

Hope floating are well known for the rivets hitting Shimano callipers.

Floating discs are pretty pointless and usually create a lot more problems than they fix - why do you think you need them?

  • I need a new front rotor because my current one has a crack on one of the spider legs.

Whilst looking around on CRC i seen them, they look pretty nice. I think i will just buy the orange coloured alligator disc and save myself the bother, they seem nice.

I wouldn't buy the hope floating.

Some of the alligator discs are super light, I run two on my commuter and one on the rear of my MTB, but I don't run it on the front as I prefer a full braking surface at the sharp end.

  • Yeah ... I would rather have a disc that may not look as nice, but i have confidence it will work properly with my setup. Cheers :-)

If all you want is the look, how about the Shimano ones with an aluminium carrier:

It's not floating, but it definitely doesn't foul Shimano calipers.
