I've got some 52mm carbon clinchers (not these) but think I'd be tempted to go for a slightly shallower rim, so the 45mm or 35mm which I think Cosine also do). Probably slightly better in cross winds, so a bit more of an all-rounder. Also probably worth looking at CRCs new Prime wheels. Look pretty similar as far as price point goes, and the black label graphics are pretty subtle too. I kind of wish I'd waited as there seems to be some decent choice compared with this time last year :roll:Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

ive got the 45mm cosines and love them, ive seen big improvements over my usual rides since i switched from mavic ksysium elites. ive done about 1000 miles on them so far. im even quicker going uphill which i didnt expect. they were a great price with my wiggle discount too:)

The hill thing is interesting as, science alert, there's fairly good evidence that up to certain grades, and within certain weights, aero still has an effect. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

where i live (south cambs/north essex) is pretty flat so when i say hills they are more like rolling bumps:P 8% is about the steepest and its never for very longViner

love the bike! they just look so smart, really complete a bike.
I've got the allez elite in Charcoal, similar colour to yours, so really give me an idea about what mine would look like.
Amazing!
I'll be adding these to the christmas list!

I recently purchased the 55mm versions to replace my trusty mavic cosmic sl's. Only covered around 300 miles on them so far but very pleased at the moment. Look fantastic, very stiff and quick too. For the price, they are hard to look past in my opinion.0

what would be the huge differences between the 55 and the 45?
Also what tires would you pair with them for a great result?
cheers!0 -

Vittoria CG Pave 25mm (or 27mm if frame clearances allows). I've got a set of the 30mm. Pretty stiff with a good profile so 23mm tyres come up 23mm. I had a pair of pacenti rims and a 23mm tyre came up 26mm!
Wiggle also endorse the use of swisstop pads as the stock ones tend to squeal a bit. Im pretty happy with the modulation with the black prince pads in the dry and wet. The stock ones were not too good in the rain going down hill.0
