Specialized Venge Elite 2015 - is this normal???

I have just acquired my second Venge (long story) but am confused by something. My previous 2014 Venge Elite had plastic oval covers over the cable entry points at the front end into the frame for the internal cabling. Not fussed about the down tube as is neat and tidy how they've done it and can see in plenty of pics online it's correct but the top tube entry point for the rear brake cable seems really shoddy quality for Specialized and I'm wondering if mine is normal?

That rectangular cut out in the recess seems odd to me and why have they droppped the oval plastic covers which had a single hex screw in?

    My main concern is that little rectangular cut out inside the recess. Is that on yours?

    Had a quick look this morning at mine - pretty sure its the same, don't worry about it ;)

    That recess is for a Di2 cable. My SWorks is the same.
