Which Cannodale Habbit

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum and just about to buy a new bike but I'm torn between the Cannondale Habbit 4 and the Habbit 3 Carbon.
As I see it the only real difference is the front frame with one being alloy and obviously the other being carbon.
I worry that if you have a nasty off on a carbon bike that can be curtains for the frame where at least with an alloy one you might just dent it.
I'm not overly worried about the components as they can be easily switched out, I'll probably go for XT brakes and gears for either bike as for the money, you cannot beat them.
Both the bikes get great reviews and I can buy either at only a £200 difference so what should I buy?
I will be mainly riding trails, nothing too major, I'm 5' 11" and reasonably strong so it's more about the difference the carbon frame will make over the alloy and will I really notice it being pretty novice?
Thanks in advance.

Buy whichever one doesn't have a Lefty fork. Decent fork when new but not particularly durable.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Carbon is more likely to survive a bang than aluminium!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I used to think that but I've recently seen two Specialized Stumpjumper carbon frames destroyed in relatively minor crashes. One of them split the length of the down tube in a front end impact which didn't look too serious.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
