Piti lost over ten minutes, wonder what happened to him.

Contador is finished as a GC contender in everything but a weak field, ie the Giro. It's more unusual these days if he doesn't lose time on his rivals.

Great stage, watched from start to finish.

    Enjoyable stage.

Froome has psyched out Quintana. Hopefully tomorrow he'll roll alongside NQ and ask him how many watts he's putting out.

    Super-chuffed for Gesink too.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Little Pete is 15th, 8 and a bit minutes back. Impressive considering the work he has been doing for Froome.

    Senõr Hairplugs slips to 19th.

If they had a young rider's jersey would Yates have it?

Chavez & Quintana are both 26, so yeah.

Great ride today by Orica and Yates, all the time he gained was basically on the descent & false flat.

Froome's not attacked yet all race.

Yes he has, he dropped Contador, got countered by Quintana and then Contador caught and passed him.

Is there a rider in the peloton more boring than Tejay?

Nope. Whenever someone says Froome is dull, I point at Tejay

What a ride from Yates!! That was great to watch. Nice ride from Chaves too in the end.

    Happy for Gesink :)

    What a stage.

It's the Vuelta. It can't quite stretch to a bloke in underpants with a legless stuffed boar.

He wasn't legless, just a bit 'emotional'

Damn travelling. Sounds like I missed a cracking stage. I'm off to find me some highlights.

No. The man is a blackhole of charisma.

Like Steve* would ever do anything that interesting.

*As I've decided I'm going to call him. After Steve "interesting" Davis.

Steve Davis is quite interesting though. He plays Gong on the radio

I saw Steve Davis play an exhibition match when I was a teenager. He was very entertaining.

Two things to note from yesterdays's stage:

    1. Simon Gerrans won the combativity award. A bit like Marcel Kittel wearing a climbers jersey.

    2. Andrew Talansky is now 8th on GC. Zubeldia would be proud of that effort.

A few of the US riders are pretty hipster and keen on that sort of thing.

Alex Howes glasses case in point...

One if the best stages in recent memory. Thoroughly deserving stage winner, epic effort by Yates (and superb team tactics) and top 10 riders knocking lumps out of each other.
