Hi guys,

Looking for some recommendations/advice here.

A few years a go my older brother sadly passed away, very keen mountain biker and better than I ever was/can be. We used to spend a lot of time on the bikes and I still have his 2001 Hardrock comp (probably the most reliable bike ever!), its basically been sat for around five years, badly scratched/weathered/rough and in need of total refurb.

One thing I would love to do and I have for a while is get it restored to how it used to be, I understand this is probably easier said than done due to the parts but a starting point would be the frame. I would like to get it stripped and then re-painted in the same factory colours, along with the fork lowers and some new Rockshox Judy decals.

From there I would then have the forks serviced if they can be, generally tidy it up and keep it as a keep sake and for some light use to stop everything seizing back up.

Any recommendation for a painter who maybe able to help? The frame looks the same as this so not just a single colour jobbie: http://i40.tinypic.com/xgiexc.jpg

I have thought about keeping it as it is but it really isn't in good shape, at one point it was in Spain for about three years out in the open, it really is about shot but I cant let it go to the tip!

Any recommendations welcome. Thanks

I've never used him but he does Steve Peat's custom frames... http://fatcreations.com

Or you could try Argos Cycles in Bristol - they might be able to help. Edit: it has automatically added a link to the well known catalogue shop - that is not who I recommend!! Try http://argoscycles.com

Slik Graphics can probably help with Decals, or might be worth contacting Rockshox direct - you never know what they might have knocking about.

Good luck with the project and sorry to hear about your bro!
