Has anyone had any experience with these? Seems to be a really good deal at the minute or £21 from Planet X.

Can you buy spare pads? It seems a good deal, but if you can't replace the pads, then it won't last long.. I change the pads at least once per year

  • Removable pads - but no idea where to get replacement ones... unless the specialised evade ones are an exact match

For the £21 it's worth the gamble IMO
At the end of the day if it isn't a great fit, you can always return it?

They have another one for £34 which looks good too.

I haven't got the Corus model but I have the Aero Road. Well made, equal to a mid range helmet from the likes of Giro etc, and much better than the budget models it's priced against.
Pads are removable and washable, but I always wear a skull cap so they never get sweat directly on the pads, so I don't need to wash often.
At £21, treat it as disposable. I doubt they will ever sell replacement pads; the model will probably only be on sale for a few months or so judging by PX history (you can't buy the model I bought 3 months ago!). But the outlay is so low, not much to lose.
  • I am thinking of getting one (and its now calles Notus).

Anyone got one and top so how do they size up ?

Who cares if they are an exact match? Bought some generic pads a while back, trimmed them to fit, worked great. It's a cheap ass foam helmet pad, not rocket science.

I went into Planet X warehouse on the way home from my mum's last month and had a look at a Corus/ Notus in the flesh. I was a bit disappointed to be honest.
Its very obviously designed to be an Evade clone, but the holes looked in the wrong place from both an aero and cooling perspective and it just looked cheap. Which at £21 it is, but at £40 as it is now, its getting into the same price bracket as most brands mid priced helmets if you shop around on the net. For example a Giro Foray is pretty indistinguishable from the Synthe, and you can pick one up for less. And you can also guarantee that if you got that, the model will still be on sale in a couple of years time, so you can get spares\replacements or sell on much easier. Planet X have revised and renamed the helmet in the couple of months this thread has been going!
