Have ridden the Alto de Aitana. Nice fairly steady climb about an hour in length.

thanks! how come you didnt turn right like la vuelta does and finish at the very top by the airforce base

Forgot to mention, its closed to the public, except I imagine for race days like the Vuelta.

ahhh ok, good news. it looks like im going to try and meet up with some guys i rode with last year to watch stage 21 of La Vuelta so will in all likelihood go up there with them. (and take part in their TT in the week running up to it)

I'm a few hundred miles sarf and its bleeding 45c in the shade at the moment, screw that for a game of soldiers plus I'm sans bike.
