Hello, complete newbie here

I'm looking for a bike in the 400-600eur price range that will be comfortable, able to go 20+km without mayor problems and be able to handle light off-roading. Also be reliable. I don't really care that much if one bike has slightly better components than another if both are still "ok".

So far I'm really liking the specialized 2017 crosstrail disc, based on me seeing it popping up a lot when searching for suggestions. Could you tell me if the parts it's using are considered somewhat decent or is it garbage and should be avoided?

I really don't know anything about parts and brands, could you tell me what I should be looking for in general?

Also here are all the bikes I'm looking at:

1. Specialized 2017 crosstrail disc: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes ... isc/126335
2. Specialized 2017 Sirrus: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes ... rus/115192
3. Scott sub cross 50: http://www.scott-sports.com/us/en/produ ... 0-Men-Bike
4. Cube Curve pro 2016: http://www.cube.eu/produkte/trekking/cu ... lack-2016/
5. Cube Curve 2016: http://www.cube.eu/produkte/trekking/cu ... hite-2016/
6. Trek 7.1 FX: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 20010-2016
7. Trek FX 1: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 20010-2017
8. Trek 7.2 FX: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 23010-2016
9. Trek FX 2: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 23010-2017
10. Trek 7.3 FX: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 27010-2016
11. Trek 8.2 DS: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes ... 10600-2016
12. Trek 8.3 DS 2016: removed link because there's only 11 URLs allowed in a single post, will add it in a reply

Also one thing I'm wondering, how well, if even, bikes like the sirrus or the FX line can handle light off-roading, considering they don't have shocks? I really don't want to mess up my bike if I do a light jump, hit a pothole or be worried if I go over rougher gravel.

So which one of those would you recommend and why? Any other brands I should look at?

Thanks for your help! :D

I did 40 odd k's on my full sus, offroad, mainly singletrack up and down hills earlier this week. No problem at all, just a normal ride.
So pretty much anything will handle 20ks.
In the distant past no mountain bikes had suspension, and they didn't break (very often at least).

But too many links for me to wade through.

Assuming Europe, you could prbably do better at half the price from Decathlon.

I've done 80K plus on an MTB many times, a bit slower is all, 20k's you can do on anything.

Pretty light, just put the tyres at a slightly higher pressure than for full offroad.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
