Hi,i wish to swap my old Ultegra 6600 10 speed groupset for the new ultegra 6800 11 speed whilst still keeping my Mavic Kysrium sl 10 speed wheels.
Is this possible?
Also,im sure I saw an advert last week advertising the 6800 for under £300 but I cant find it at that price now. Anyone else know the cheapest price ? I'm looking for a 52x36 with 17.25 crank arms.

Can't help you with the shopping, but the Mavic wheels will be fine. Just remove the spacer from behind the cassette.

Just under £300 is the going online price for 5800 so I'd be shocked if you could pick up 6800 for that.

Just wondering why, just to gain 1 extra gear?

Personally i would put the money to better use!

But if you do find out where you spotted Ultegra for £300 I'm sure we'd all be grateful for a link.....
  • Cheapest I've seen 6800 recently is a smidge under £400.

That doesn't include the bb though.

Keep the 6600, it's one of the best groupsets ever made

    I've just paid £310 for 5800 :(
BBs are cheap anyway, I paid just over £10 for a 6800 one when I replaced mine,

Better brakes, under the tape cables, slightly better rear shifting, way better front shifting, not to mention the extra gear allowing a wider range or closer ratio spread.......... :D
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D
