Hi All, Need a professional opinion here to make a decision on buying a bike...

Three options:

$950 2016 Rocky Mountain Whistler 50
http://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/whistler/ ... histler-50

$1000 2015 Rocky Mountain Whistler 70
http://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/whistler/ ... histler-70

$1149 2016 Rocky Mountain Whistler 70
http://www.bikes.com/en/bikes/whistler/ ... histler-70

Specs compared:

I don't understand the componentry that well (and what is best), so I'm not sure which one represents the best

deal.

The 2015 Whistler 70 seems like an enticing option, as it is only $50 more than the 2016 50, but how much

better of a bike is it? I'm looking to compare and contrast these bikes at their various price points. Thanks!

No professionals here, just rank (some very rank) amateurs.

Of those the 2015, but none look particularly inspiring at what I assume are US$, but could be HK$ or anything.

All have really rubbish forks, and presumably a lot of the cost is eaten up by the brand.

I'm sure you can do better for the money.

The brakes and forks seem a bit underspecced for the price of the bike to me, but I'm not familliar with american pricing.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback, the prices are Canadian, so $950CDN = $735US, $1000CDN=$774US and $1150CDN=$890US

Doesn't really help much as we use £s and no idea what bikes cost elsewhere.

I would imagine that in Canada Giant offer the same good value as they do here?
    2006 Giant XTC
    2010 Giant Defy Advanced
    2016 Boardman Pro 29er
    2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
    2017 Canondale Supersix Evo
