Integrated Bars with "under bar" mount holes

Hi all

I've just acquired a new integrated cabon handlebar. It's pretty chunky and I won't be able to put my computer directly on the bars without some serious bodging. However, the bars have 2 mount holes directly underneath which I'm assuming is designed to accept an "accessory extension" like the following product:

http://www.jensonusa.com/Barfly-Spoon-Integrated-BarStem-Mount

I don't actually own a garmin computer, I've got a VDO M6 - there's only 1 mount for this from VDO.

Is there any product out there similar to the "Barfly" above which is universal? I.e. just an accessory mount extension I can stick whatever I want onto it?

    Thanks Daniel

I've mailed them. Hopefully they've got something to do the job, or can 3D print something to spec.

Pleasure, just picked up a Garmin 1000/Di2 mount from them.
Out of idle interest, what bars are they?

Don't hate - they're unbranded chinese imports - possibly based on the design of the CInelli Ram bars.

Not at all mate, each to their own, but I do appreciate how some people voice safety concerns, especially with handlebars.

I quite liked the look of the ones linked too below, don't suppose this is what you ordered?

I did message them to ask if they had the mounting points that yours obviously has, but no reply :-(

Very very similar (possibly made in the same factory from the same mould!): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2093307188

I did some interwebs reseach before buying them. I read loads of blogs and reviews and watched various youtube videos of "cheap" carbon bars and thought I'd take a punt. One reviewer in particular managed to crack his bars about 6 months after installing them when he hit a pothole. But aside from plenty of negative comments from people saying you get what you pay for (but not actually testing these cheaper alternavies for themselves), I've not seen any real reason not to get these bars in place of a branded product that's 5 times the cost.

I think the shape is a fair bit different, your one seems to have a traditional shaped drop for example.

The big question is though - will you tape over "FCFB The Highway One" or will you leave it there proudly?

I think peoples safety concerns are based around if you had a catastrophic failure with handlbars, it could be hospital inducing.

I'm only taping on the drops up to where they curve onto the bar so the "FCMB The Highway One" will be proudly on display!!

I did cringe a bit when I saw it but it's not all the bad! And I can't see it when I'm on the bike :D

There'll always be a little niggle in my head telling me I shouldn't be such a cheap skate. And I'll always be a little bit more aware of any creaking going on up front! Time will tell if they're up to the task.

That's where I tape up to on flat top bars as well, no need for anymore.

You should come up with an amusing meaning for FCMB - Fat Cat Mountain Bikers or some such nonsense :-)

Enjoy your bars, hope they prove to be a good buy.
