Spare chain link

Hi,

I am looking to buy a spare chain link in case my chain snaps on a ride. I have an 11-speed ultegra chain, and I've seen this one that's compatible:

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kmc-11-speed-chain-links/

But a few reviews say you need a set of KMC pliers to fit it, which I wouldn't want to buy or carry around during a ride...

Is there another link I can use that would be compatible with my chain? I've seen the SRAM power links, but they don't say anything about being compatible with Shimano chains. I've also heard they're only meant as a 'get you home' type thing, and I'd prefer something more permanent.

Thanks.

I use these KMC 11-speed links on Campag chain. They fit easily without pliers and are permanent. To fit, you assemble by hand (it will not be fully in position) and as soon as you push down on right crank, the link clicks into place.

Ah great, I'll just go for those then. I did think it was strange that people were saying you needed pliers — I couldn't picture what they'd be doing with them...

Thanks, maybe I will get those next time — I've already ordered the KMC ones.
