Wheel corrosion

I have a set of Campagnolo Khamsin wheels which I use during the winter. I usually hose the rims and tyres down after a ride and then dry, I then check the tyres for embedded stones/glass etc. Since March the bike has been hanging in a dry garage as I switched to the summer bike. I decided to use the winter bike yesterday as it looked like I was in for a soaking (it has mudguards). On cleaning after the ride I noticed that the junction between the brake track and the painted bit (where the spokes go) had a row of what looked like stuck on dirt. Closer inspection revealed it is corrosion under the edge of the paint.
What would you suggest is the best option? Scrape the corrosion off and touch up with paint, leave it, paint over it. Something else? The wheels are cheap as chips and I doubt they are ready to crack and fall apart, but I hate things looking scruffy when they don't need to.
