Hi, I have a Defy 1 2010 with a Tiagra 12-28 10sp Cassette. Is it worth changing this to a new Tiagra 11-32 5700 or should i bring it up to 105 and lose the "easier" gear?

It depends...if you need the 32T.

At the minute i feel i might benefit, building up to scaling Ditchling Beacon so may find the extra gear helpful

Go for the 32T then, I did Ditchling Beacon a coupe of weeks ago with 34x29 and am pretty fit. Its quite steep and a lower gear is always nice. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Some might say go for the 28T and man up, but I disagree.

You might need to lengthen your chain, probably requiring a new chain. And what rear derailleur do you have? Its probably going to need a medium cage (longer cage) RD for 32T.

Not sure what's there at present, i'll need to investigate - and thanks for the advice. Man up won't help my dodgy knee so if i can just spin my way up then i'll be more than happy :)
