Mudguards on merida hybrid

Just got a merida urban 500.

It has standard mudguard eyelets on the back but on the front it has a threaded hole in the rear of the fork legs about 10 centimetres up from the axle.

It also does not have a horizontal hole through the fork crown but has a threaded hole underneath.

Does anybody know if there are mudguards designed for this sort of fork?

Otherwise what are the drillings for?

...try contacting tredz and ask if they have the matching mudguards

if you can't get matching ones for the mounting holes there are the type that strap on

    That's the bike sun-god.
Any idea what make the mudguards are?
They look like they are built for that design of fork...

Get the kit below then you can use any SKS ones that work with your tire/wheel size.

Or just these if you want to bend or cut the stays of whatever mudguards you buy.

Just seen the bit about the threaded hole underneath, you'll have to get creative and drill a hole through the mudguard then perhaps add a small bit of metal to support a low headed bolt. Shouldn't be too hard to do though.

    Hi All,

There is a specific kit (mudguards and pannier rack) designed and produced by Merida for the Crossway series. RRP is £49.99 and the Merida part number is (Silver) 2114000523 and (Black) 2114000534.

I hope this helps you all!!

    Regards,

    Andy Parker

Further to this, you need to make sure that you have the correct kit, as the rigid front fork and suspension front fork have different fixing points.......... - Yes, I DID fall foul of this particular hurdle!!

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
The local Merdia dealer (NZ) had no idea what to do.
    Tredz.co.nz had no idea either.
Could not track down right angle brackets.

Ended up bending stays at right angles at the end.
The threads in the forks turned out to be M4 rather than M5 as most are...

    Looks good in the end.
