Click, Click Baffled

Out riding today and noticed a clicking sound from the rear derailleur in certain gears when in big and small ring. When I got back I cleaned the chain, cassette and derailleur and re lubed. I could see that a couple of links were sticking as they came off the bottom jockey wheel, checked that they were not just stiff links and that the chain was not worn (it has 3350 km as has the cassette), first problem I have had with the SRAM Force.
I would doubt it is a weather related wear problem as this is the dry weather bike.
Any ideas as I am baffled?
Cheers

Clicking in certain gears might mean the indexing is off for just those gears, which could be caused by dirty or frayed cables or some dirt in the mech pivots.
If you had some sticking links on a well-used chain, to me that says that you've picked up some dirt or grit on the chain that's worked its way in to the links. Perhaps some also got into the derailleur?0
