Bike hire in Galicia / Basque Country

I am off to Spain on a road trip in a couple of weeks. We plan to spend most time in Galicia, but a few days near onati in the Basque Country. The main focus of the trip will be surfing, but I am thinking of packing pedals/ shoes/ clothing for cycling (don't want to risk the bikes in the van). Has anyone hired reasonable bikes in these areas?

we stayed at viveiro in 2007. our boys got their first formal surfing lessons at the beach north of town from an excellent aussie coach Kelly slater who is still there in summer I think. bike shops in town there , I did not hire on that trip. lovely cycling off the main roads , hilly. There were not many tea stops out of town in that quarter of spain.

yes , but I think there might be two with that name , one is a superstar and the one at viveiro is mainly known for running surf schools in oz then for the other season at viveiro. I have seen him on a film/tv interview or two and we found he was a good teacher and the beach had very good waves when we were there. Praia de esteiro was the beach. by car it is easy , I don't know about busses.

I am having difficulty finding our kelly slater on the web, but will send this now in case you are about to leave thinking that the more famous KS is sitting on the beach waiting for you .There are other surf clubs and schools there and in other resorts in the area.

octopus galician style is tossed for about 10seconds in frying pan and that's it. An aquired taste , I will be avoiding it henceforth.
