After Condor refused to sell me Tempo frame with disc brake fork, I am now considering getting Fratello frame and eccentric hub wheel. Then i saw Kaffenback at Planet x in nice 'tea and coffee' colourway - much cheaper, if heavier, and it got me looking around. I also thought it might be fun to get a carbon frame to save a few grams and, just because, why not? Unless carbon SS commuter is a bad idea for reasons unknown to me. So:

1) Carbon frame
2) Disc brakes front and back
3) Wide wheel clearance
4) BSA68
5) Mudguard holes
6) Can be cross geometry or slightly racier, will be run with drop bars
7) I think i'd prefer QR, not familiar with TA
8) Pannier holes not necessary

Is there such a frame?

Most carbon CX frames don't have mudguard holes. Bish bash bosh frame from Planet x looks pretty good, but i can't find info on BB and it has TA.

"Bottom Bracket SRAM GXP Team Bottom Bracket (With Spacers) / 68/73mm"

What size you looking for? My Tricross Single speed is looking for a new home.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Tempo with Disc fork implies you were originally looking to run fixed? Will take a look at some SS options.

Also in the PX stable you could look at the XLS

    http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FRPXXLS/pl ... s-frameset

Built around the Pro Carbon road frameset this has most of what you need (including BSA 68mm BB) except maybe the mudguard eyelets but I'm sure that could be tackled in other ways

I'd be looking for 54 - 56 cm. Does 68 in the name imply frame with BSA bottom bracket?

Thanks, i looked at that one as well, but any creaks, rattles and wobbles drive me up the wall and i'd rather have mudguards solidly fitted to proper fixings.

Thanks, Pete - yes, this would be a single speed, thus i'll be looking at getting an eccentric hub wheel.

If you can forego the disc requirement in your wish list then the Tifosi CK2 on offer at Paul Milnes Ebay shop might be worth considering

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tifosi-CK2-Ca ... 6b582f2d59

    Carbon frame
    BSA threaded BB
    Mudguard eyelets

Colour is a bit meh but not that bad.

I've bought 3 frames from Paul Milnes in the past and can't fault them for service

OK so I've found a disc version which has mudguard mounts

The BB is described as Shimano Tiagra on another site so I'm guessing it would be the normal HT2 in a threaded BB housing. Maybe a call to Tifosi would confirm.

Can only find complete bikes but the frameset may be available separately

I found some frames that tick most of boxes, but they would involve signing up to alibaba etc. It would seem that i will have to put up with through axles, but before i push the button on Bish bash bosh, how likely would a huge BB drop of 77 mm be an issue for ground clearance on 54 frame with 165 cranks?
Blasted headtube jumps up 3 cm as well going from 52 to 54 as well.. at 5'11 i am between sizes, but less toe overlap is also desirable. Can't win!

It's a tough find this which is why I've ended up with a Steel concoction.
I wouldn't let the through axles worry you. With this being a disc build you shouldn't have to worry about new rims for a long time. Will they be any harder for fixing punctures?

Ooh, that's exactly what I need. Looks like it would cope with the kind of off-road excursion my demented Garmin Touring frequently takes me on. Fair play to the CR1, it hasn't broken yet, but it's a bit rattly doing CX on 23 / 25mm tyres at 90psi!

If you're interested I've also truffled out another contender in the Whyte Cornwall - carbon frame, mudguard mounts, discs and threaded BSA BB or so it states in this review

    http://www.cyclist.co.uk/reviews/11/why ... all-review

Not available as a frameset alone as far as I can establish but a call to Whyte might clarify the situation

    http://www.whyte.bike/cornwall-16

Also appears from the Whyte website that the Cornwall might be discontinued as it features in "Previous Models 2016" list.
