Mark on chainstay paintwork.

Found this mark on the driveside chain stay on my Oltre XR1 today,to me it just looks like the laquer is chipped.First carbon bike so a little paranoid.
Am I correct in thinking it is a cosmetic blemish,all feels solid around the mark.

    Cosmetic. It was most probably caused by the chain. Protection tape (helicopter tape) placed around the chain stay will help to stop paint chips like that.

    can't see the photo but it sounds like a chain-induced paint chip. My CR1 came with a metal strip glued to the top of the chainstay to protect against this very thing.

    Carbon's a lot tougher than most people think it is though...
