QQ Please Shiman 6700 Shifters

Were the 6700 shifters always the gear cables were internally routed ie alongside the handlebar and inside the bar tape?

    6700 was designed for internally-routed cabling, if that's what you mean. Earlier models like 6600 were not.

    thx just looking for confirmation, seller says 6700 but side entry for shifter cable, swears blind its 6700

    If it's side exit, it's not 6700.
  • If you peel back the rubber hood, the model number is embossed on the plastic body underneath. That should remove any doubt.

    There is no doubt - side entry means not 6700.

    You also might want to ask a few more questions from the seller. Often when they don't know what parts are on the bike it's been stolen. Of course it may be legit but do a little extra checking.

    There's no doubt about what they aren't - there's still a lot of doubt about what they are. With side-exit cables, they could be brand new Sora or 15 year old Dura-Ace, or a whole range in between. The model number will tell you exactly what they are.
