Right, i have been looking at these for days and just cant make my mind up. i want something for winter riding (roads and canal paths etc) as i already have a good road bike, a 29er hard tail and a full suss 26er. I have just done the cycle scheme for the second time, have my certificate and the bike i was looking at sold out so have been looking at these 3

The Cross bikes will be great for cross, good for off the beaten path and good on road.

The Norco will probably make a better all round off the beaten path and road bike but not useful for cross.

I did. But the 105 version. But only because I will add it to the stable and I can get the boy to do CX with me.

(The 105 is only £849 at Evans)

  • if i could afford the 105 in the caadx i think it would be no contest but the certificate is only for £675 so would have to put down quite a bit on top.

If you don't want to do cross racing and have your off road needs satisfied by the 29er than go for the Search, although can you not get a bottom end Synapse in budget?

  • i have about £40 in clubcard vouchers and will change those for £80 worth of evans vouchers which puts the norco search in budget. tried a 55 in it at the cardiff store earlier but it felt a tad big so have ordered the 53 in to try.
