Any recommendations for the best mountain wheels to be used in sun and rain? Good for long climbs and good for descending in the wet? 85kg rider. Max price £1500.00. The new Mavic Ksyrium Pro Carbone SL C are supposed to work in the wet but Im not sure. Black brake tracks are a preference so the HED Ardennes black would be an option. Any others?

i dont think the rims are wide enough. Its what I would use and have. I wouldnt be surprised if there is a wide rim version on its way. Theyve done Shamal and Zonda

They're almost certainly on the way. The Fulcrum 3 is about to get it so I reckon it won't be long. It's very interesting overally. For me I'll definitely be going something in the 1450-1550g range. Wider if possible. And 25c. I'm actually much more confident descending on shallow section rims rather than deep ones.

That said, I've had Ksyrium, RS80 and Fulcrum 3 in the past and remember being very happy with all of them. It would be interesting to do a proper back to back Racing 5 v Racing 5 LG type experiment.

I do, but the front rim is worn out. I bought another set off here, the newer version.
