Having never replaced a front chain ring before I just want to double check what replacement i need. It's on a Cube Acid 27.5 about two years old. Just need to replace the outer chain ring (it's still slipping after replacing the very streched chain and rear cassette).
42teeth 10 speed four arm Shimano SG-X. Couple of pictures included if that helps. Don't need any thing fancy just something that will mean i won't rip my ankle open again if i apply some real pressure to the peddle.
thanks for reading.

Pictures work fine for me.
I'd replace it with a Shimano Deore outer ring. Decent quality and lasts forever.
Or if you don't use it much (I guess you use it if it's worn) then you could replace it with a bash guardTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
