Looks like they are also doing the Tour of Utah live as well.

    No spoiler in header but...

Small group of seven with 40 sec lead and 25km to finish. Sky & Movistar leading chase but looks good for a sprint win by Gianni Meersman.

Will be interesting to see how Contador fares in this race
  • Adam Blythe rocking the GB Champ kit for the first time also.

Gotta feel for Matt Rendell doing the commentary. Enjoyed his very understated suggestion than they shouldn't go for an advert break with 4km to go.

Possibly the worst commentary I've ever heard. Rambling rubbish. He should stick to writing.

He's definitely not a commentator. He needs Ned or someone to tell him when he's rambling.

Still, good win for Boy van Poppel.

Commentator was calling him Boy van Poppel all day, even when the name "Danny van Poppel was on the screen.

I guess you had to be there.

    I'll let you off then.

Edit: I'm not too proud to say that after I'd replied to RR I quickly checked Danny on wiki, saw a pic of him in trek kit and thought for a second that I had made a terrible error.

  • Problem with Rendell is that he has one of the least listenable voices around, always sounds on the verge of a phlegm clearance.

Though one thing in his favour is that, unlike his sidekick Hopkirk, he isn't deceased.

Nice attack by "Alberto Quintana" earlier apparently. I'd still take this over Carlton K though, just....

Danny Van Poppel proving that he is the best sprinter in this race - made it look easy.

Contador stretching his legs on the last climb but not giving any real clues to his form yet.

Dmitriy Gruzdev keeps his slim lead

He had some good ones today. "Orica Team-Exchange" was good.

TV (L'equipe21) transmission failure over last km - only the last 50m shown, so we missed the uphill cobbled finish. Good win for Nathan Haas (DD) with Jempy Drucker finishing second again for the third time. Danny Van Poppel in 4th while Gianni Meersman's 6th is good enough to put him in the leaders jersey.

Contador showing well keeping out of trouble at the front of the peleton.

I thought it was Orica Dyke-Exchange

Shame we had to watch hours of boring flat countryside only to have the TV pictures fail for the final 500 meter cobbled climb - not that the heli-view was very interesting.

Sergio Pardilla (CJR) wins solo by 17 secs on the Lagunas de Neila after attacking 4km from the summit. A determined chase by Contador in the last km saw him do just enough to claim the winner's jersey by 1 sec. Good last couple of kms.
