Recently swapped the cassette over on my Hope Mono RS wheels and noticed quite heavy gouging on the cassette body. I think it's quite easy to swap over for a new one, but what is the cause of this and how can I prevent to happening again?

It's the steel cassette cogs biting into the alu freehub body. The 2 possible solutions are: Get a steel freehub body, or get a cassette where the sprockets sit on alu carriers.
  • Thanks for the replies. Think I'll give a steel cassette body a go.
