Ultegra 10/11 speed compatibility

My bike has a PF30 bottom bracket and came with a FSA chainset. The rest of the drivetrain is 10 speed Ultegra 6700. I've had some issues with creaking in the BB (of course) so am planning on fitting a Praxis adapter and getting an Ultegra chainset, however am unsure whether the 6800 or 6750 is the best choice - they seem to be similarly priced so am leaning towards the 6800 as it will offer some future proofing in terms of upgrading to 11 speed eventually.

From what I've read it should be possible to run the 11 speed 6800 with my 10 speed set up, anyone know if this is the case? Would I be better to use a 10 or 11 speed chain in this case?

either chainset is fine, no need for 11 speed chain

i'd fit a SRAM PF30 to BSA adapter (£20/£25) instead of the praxis and use a hassle free shimano bottom bracket instead

Cheers. Any particular reason for going for the SRAM adapater rather than Praxis? (Apart from the fact it would be about half the price)

the praxis doesn't seal as well as the shimano BBs - I have one fitted and it clicks a bit after 6 months - whereas your likely to get 5 years out of a shimano BB maybe more. the praxis at around £50 is pretty expensive too and throwaway when you need another AFAIK - the FSA adapter you can use a £10/£15 shimano BB when you need to replace again

Did you end up using the SRAM adapter?
