    Strava strips out stationary time and gives you moving average in your stats.

    I leave the garmin running without auto pause just because the overall average is better for working out when I'll get home... Tend to turn it off at long stops (e.g., coffee stop).

    The difference between overall and moving averages is variable based on traffic lights and congestion.
