Help with stem

Saw it off?!!
Take it out and replace with a quill stem converter, then use what ever stem you want as long as it matches the bar diameter.

Oh sorry I thought it was directly connected to the fork! Thanks.

It helps after you loosen the long bolt through the stem into the fork to strike it lightly with a rubber or wooden mallet. I you don't have one use a block of wood and a hammer. This will free the wedge and then the stem.

And that is a 'normal' stem! You can't get much more normal than a quill stem.......
