Hi all, sorry for my non attendance, I've not done much over for almost the last 3 years, in September 2013, I was rushed into hospital one Saturday night (not due to alcohol I must add), in great pain, after being wired up to the mains and following several tests, some of my internal organs were fighting me and each other, the kidneys weren't working properly, the right lung wasn't wanting to play and my liver was on the verge of packing in completely, I was not in a good way.
Over the course of the next few months, I was prodded, poked, fossicked with, drained of enough blood to keep a family of vampires on an average of 3 pints a week and generally used as a guinea pig, well, it felt like it. Since then, I've had to consume all types of medication, seen specialists, but no reason for my feeling ill has been discovered, all of this has had the effect of my doctor stopping all forms of exercise, apart from an easy walk.
Roll on to yesterday and my doctor informs me I can partake of cycling again, along with what other exercise I wish to do, but only in moderation to start with, so, this morning, I've serviced my bikes, pumped the tyres up and am ready for a ride, but as it's the hottest day of the year, I'm fair skinned and suffer from prickly heat, I'm staying indoors and out of the sun, I will get on the bike again and build the rides up slowly, It's going to be nice to have a pedal again.

Good luck - I had time off the bike due to a rare kidney problem... Take it really easy and early mornings at the moment are the best time to ride IMHO.

What every you do, don't over do it.

That's great news - I had some time off with a couple of prolapsed discs some years ago and it felt wonderful to get "back to normal" (if you'll pardon the pun) and start exercising again.

Enjoy it and take it steady.
