I've got a Raleigh sprint and I've put a new freewheel on it with a 34t sprocket. Now the original derailleur won't take it, so could someone suggest a newer derailleur that would fit the frame and deal with the big sprocket please.
Is that what a "long cage" is for?
Thanks
Rob.

Yes and no... you need to read the specs of the derailleur to assess what sprocket size is compatible with

Looks like a Shimano Tourney RD-TX5 will cope. It's a "direct mount" derailleur so does this mean it will fit on my frame please?

Might do it. How many gears have you got at the back? Are your gears indexed?

It's the old lever on the front tube.

You should be alright with the deraileur you've suggested.

Contacted the seller and he tells me that it wouldn't fit my bike.
    Ah well.
