Getting back in to biking......

Hey all I'm new to forum......What a great forum this seems to be 8)

Up until around 4 years ago I was out biking most weekends(nothing serious just a bit of fun)but after getting a car and the every day life taking priority I haven't had a chance.

I'm now looking to get myself another bike and was after some advice.
It will be used for a bit of road riding in the evenings to keep fit but the routes also include quite a bit of off road along canals/parks/trial tracks.

I was initially looking to get a Carerra Sulcata as they seem to be on offer for £299 at the moment.
Then a friend suggested I may be better off getting a more up market bike but second hand for around the same money.
Have a budget of around £300/£400.
A friend suggested a Cube and I came across this:

Could I get better for the money?
Carrera or Cube?

So you would chose the Rockrider over the Cube?

Not a massive fan of the looks of a Rockrider but if it's a lot better bike for the money then it's worth me thinking about!

And if you get a 26 inch then buy 6 spare tyres in case the world comes to an end for them.
